LONDON, 31 July 2025
Voltalis, the European leader in Demand Side Response, has partnered with Barton Knight Group, a leading electrical services provider, to bring smarter, more sustainable energy solutions to NHS Trusts, local councils, and commercial businesses and developers in the UK.
Barton Knight has become the first in its network to install Voltalis’ free technology at its headquarters in Guildford to improve energy efficiency, reduce emissions and manage energy costs.
The small, discreet thermostat connects to existing electric heating and cooling appliances, turning them into “smart appliances” that can be managed via Voltalis’ app. The aim is to reduce energy consumption, create cost savings and lower Scope 2 emissions. It is installed directly with no need for rewiring or new control systems, making it a seamless and disruption-free solution for buildings of all sizes.
The installation, which was completed in Q2 2025, is part of a broader initiative by Barton Knight/Voltalis to offer Voltalis’ smart energy technology to commercial property owners and facilities managers looking to make a positive environmental impact.
Dr. Randall Bowen, Managing Director of Voltalis UK, commented, “Our partnership with Barton Knight is a significant step forward in demonstrating how commercial buildings can quickly and easily become more energy efficient.
“The beauty of Voltalis’ technology is that it’s fully compatible with existing building infrastructure, meaning no disruption or upfront costs. With this installation, Barton Knight is leading by example, helping reduce energy costs while making a meaningful contribution to reducing carbon emissions.”
Matthew Barton, Director of Barton Knight Group, said, “Offering smart, flexible energy solutions to our business and public sector clients is an important part of our strategy to support the UK’s transition to more sustainable energy. The installation at our headquarters has already delivered significant energy savings, and we are looking forward to helping our clients achieve similar results.”
Voltalis’ solution is fully funded by the smart energy company, meaning the technology is completely free to the end user. It is designed to provide immediate energy savings and CO2 reductions from day one, offering clients up to 15% savings on their heating and cooling energy bills.
As part of the growing demand for energy-efficient solutions, Voltalis and Barton Knight aim to bring the benefits of smart energy technology to businesses throughout the UK.
